- Ruby Group are recruiting for a prestigious family owned group searching for an Assistant Financial Controller on a permanent or contractual basis. You will be part of a large recognised company that created one of the UKs most iconic fashion brands and manages an investment portfolio of hotels and properties employing circa 16,000 people around the globe.

You will include:
· Day-to-day oversight of the finance function, supporting the department head and managing a small finance team (10-15 employees)
· Ensure month end is closed on a timely and accurate basis. Oversee preparation of the quarterly accounts
· Manage the external audit to ensure accurate and timely sign off of audited financial statements
· Ensure departmental accounting standards are maintained and control processes reviewed and enforced
· Recommend and implement improvements
· Liaison with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Group and Tax departments
The ideal Assistant Financial Controller will possess the following attributes/skills:
· 3 years + experience in similar role
· Qualified accountant (ICAEW ACA, ACCA)
· Experience of managing a team
· Experience in the property/investment industry and a commercial awareness is a definite advantage.
· Experience of reporting under FRS 102 (desirable)
· Experience of Sage Advanced Accounts Production, QUBE, & Cognos (desirable)
· Experience of producing management and statutory accounts
· Very strong technical skills and an ability to deal with complex transactions such as investment acquisitions and disposals
· Intermediate Microsoft Excel
