Ruby Group are looking for a Group Financial Controller to join a well-established marketing company in South-East London.
The position is a maternity cover starting in February and reporting to the Finance Director. Your duties will be as followed: -
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Overseeing preparation of monthly management accounts for Group submission
- Review and consolidation of monthly management accounts for the client's international companies
- Preparation of monthly forecast for all companies in conjunction with account managers, international heads, Finance Director HR Manager and other key staff.
- Co-ordination of the annual budget process for all group companies.
- Preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts for group submission
- Management of group working capital
- Providing financial information to key management as and when required, including sales updates, variance analysis and sensitivity analysis
- Management and performance appraisal of the finance team including sales ledger team, purchase ledger team, financial accountant, finance assistant and international projects accountant, (6 staff in total).
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable taxes and duties including VAT, payroll taxes and import duties.
- Review and approval of monthly payroll.
- Developing and implementing appropriate financial controls throughout the business including appropriate authorisation limits.
- Co-ordinating the audit process, and being the first point of contact with auditors.
- Working with client and sales teams to improve the results of the business, eg maximising gross margin, improving cash flow.
The skills and experience you need:
- Commercial mindset and approach
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
- Up to date knowledge of IFRS
- Experience in preparing monthly management accounts
- Experience of working in a multi-currency environment, including multi-currency consolidation desirable.
- Experience in managing, mentoring and appraising staff
- Pro-active approach and positive attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good excel skills
