Senior Accountant

Ruby Group are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a global retail brand that has over 50 years of heritage. Currently they have over 200 retail units in the UK. They also have a strong online presence ensuring they are set up for the future. A newly created role reporting into the Financial Controller. Your responsibilities will be to supervise a part qualified accountant, ensure year end and statutory accounts are produced on time, including budgeting and month end review. Working on Ad-hoc projects liaising with general managers to drive retail business. Producing Management Accounts incorporating Profit and loss, and variance analysis. Maintain the fixed assets and CAPEX over seeing all cash and banking activities. Monthly and year to date sales reconciliation with commentary. You will also be part of a system implementation working with consultant to ensure it is set up correctly. Prepare and submit the periodic VAT returns for multiple international countries and keeping abreast of any changes in local requirements. You will also be part of the team preparing company statutory accounts, responsible for managing and overseeing interim and year-end audit, liaising with external auditors.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and have a professional qualification in either ACCA, CIMA or ACA with at least two years post qualified experience. You must have excellent communication skills as you will be relationship building with senior managers/stakeholders and non-finance people.
