- Description
Ruby Group are looking for a Financial Controller to join a prestigious retail business based in Central London. This permanent role reports into the finance director and will be leading a team of 8. The position will offer an attractive salary package and opportunities to progress within the organisation. The working hours are 9am to 5.30pm and the position is office based. The duties/responsibilities are: -
- Oversee and manage components of the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts receivable, sales invoicing, revenue recognition, royalties, cost of sales, and capitalised development
- Produce timely & accurate financial reports and co-ordinate the distribution of monthly reporting to key stakeholders.
- Elaboration and execution of the monthly and year end close process. Management Reporting for all the sites whilst adhering to pre-defined timetables.
- Detailed review of management reports to assess risk, analyse efficiency and participate on decision making by senior management for current or long term financial planning & budgeting processes.
- Supporting the FD as and when needed in investor reviews, budgeting, business review and other associated matters.
- Transactional close, including review and approval of journal entries
- Review Balance sheet reconciliations
- Review month-end analysis with the view to identifying corrections
- Review/prepare variance analysis on P&L accounts
- Prepare, review, and analyse financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Ensure the accounting processes followed by the core finance team adhere to accounting policies
- Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Assess current practices and procedures, make recommendations for improvements, and drive these forward
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
We are ideally looking for an ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified accountant with a proven track record of managing teams and working in a similar function. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be well versed on Microsoft Excel. The successful individual must be dynamic and interested in a fast paced environment.
