- Ruby Group are exclusively recruiting for a new permanent Business Accountant vacancy within a high-end retail client based in Sheen, South-west London.
They offer study support and plan to set up an EMI share scheme. As an SME at circa £3 million turnover, they will be 3 times the size in 5 years. Their luxury product is very appealing to their specialist market and has a contemporary and modern feel to it. Having recently visited the store the staff were very engaging, personable and happy to be there, I very much felt at home and welcomed. They have an active social and collaborative culture with a competent, hardworking and passionate team.
You will be solely delivering all the financial functions in the business including:
- Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, purchase invoices
- Full ownership of the TB including accruals and prepayments
- Accounts payable
- VAT returns
- Payroll preparation and journals (payroll is outsourced)
- Balance sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis, fx hedging, product costings and cash flow forecasts
The ideal Business Accountant will possess the following attributes/skills:
- Analytical acumen and ability to apply storytelling to numbers, trends, insights, early warnings
- The ability to integrate number with the people, systems and processes to drive business improvement
- Some experience in retail / EPOS systems and direct to consumer (Shopify) would be helpful but not a requirement
- Sage / Xero skills (planning to consolidate to one)
- Comfortable working in a small team environment, building strong interpersonal relationships
