Assistant Accountant

Ruby Group is partnering with a boutique financial services firm based in Central London to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team in a collaborative and professional environment.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing daily reconciliations, management P&L, and client money reporting
• Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions
• Preparing and processing payments
• Posting journals to the Xero ledger and assisting with month-end reviews
• Contributing to monthly management accounts, annual audits, and quarterly VAT submissions
• Handling ad hoc finance tasks as required

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in a relevant field and be actively studying towards a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA)
• At least 4 years of practical experience, ideally within finance operations
• Experience in the financial services sector (preferred but not essential)
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Xero
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with initiative
