Ruby Group are looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant to join a global business located in central London Victoria. Reporting to the Financial Controller, theFixed Asset Accountant is responsible for the management, recording and tracking of all transactions relating to the Company’s fixed assets (tangible and intangible); including but not limited to processing additions, disposals, reclassifications and leases. To operate in line with regional and corporate finance guidelines and policies.Maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset ledger accounts for the group.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
- Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
- Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets
- Record depreciation in line with agreed asset life periods
- Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation
- Investigate the potential obsolescenceof fixed assets.
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
- Co-ordinate the process for the authorisation of Capital expenditure in accordance with Company Policy.
- Issue & record capital project numbers following authorisation of capital expenditure.
- Track company expenditures for fixed assets in comparison to the capital budgetand management authorisations
- Prepare auditschedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
- Comply with Corporate timetables and policies.
- Ensure the month-end process is completed accurately & on time with all UK accounts reconciled & uploaded
- Monitor and review property FF&E reserves and expenditure
- Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets.
- Provides support & training to the hotel financial controllers as required
- Ensure alignment and consistency of the Fixed Asset process across the region
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Co-ordinate the annual UK budgeting & forecasting process for Capital Expenditure.
- Prepares the annual budget guidelines under the guidance of Corporate requirements
- Provides advice & guidance to FCs on the annual budget completion
- Prepares budget review presentation information, as requested by the RFC, RGM and / or Corporate HO.
- Reporting: Provide timely, focussed and accurate reporting and analysis to stakeholders
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management
- Prepares monthly and quarterly fixed asset reporting.
- Financial Control: Monitors & reviews performance against agreed key financial controls, identifying areas of concern & making recommendations for improvement.Monitors and reviews performance against agreed key financial controls
- Identifies & presents balance sheet risks & opportunities to the RFC and FCs
- Provides support to external & internal auditors as and when required
- Assist in company specific financial and accounting training in relation to finance policy, systems and processes.
The ideal applicant will be working towards a professional qualification in either ACCA or CIMA and be at least part qualified.
