Group Financial Controller

Ruby Group are looking for a strategic and hands-on Group Financial Controller to join a high-growth fintech business. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing financial control, compliance, and reporting across the group, while driving process improvements and supporting the next phase of growth.

In this role, you will own the integrity of group financials, lead a high-performing team, and partner with senior stakeholders to align financial control objectives with business goals. You’ll manage month-end close, group consolidation, and statutory reporting, while ensuring robust internal controls and compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own group financials and design close processes and reporting packs.
• Develop and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures.
• Lead and mentor the financial control team, fostering continuous improvement.
• Oversee day-to-day finance operations and treasury management.
• Manage month-end close, group consolidation, and management reporting.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies for compliance.
• Ensure timely submission of tax returns (Corporation, VAT, PAYE, R&D).
• Partner with business units on accounting implications for new products.
• Monitor regulatory changes and adapt financial control frameworks accordingly.

About You:

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with proven experience in financial control.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Experience with accounting systems and technology solutions.
• Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Previous experience in financial services or EMI-licensed organisations desirable.
