Ruby Group are looking for a financial controller to join a fast growing SME business that has seen a 50% increase in turnover during the last financial year. Reporting to the Finance Director your responsibilities will be to lead a team of four, training and appraising. You will produce a full set of monthly management accounts with variances and commentaries. Responsible for efficient and controlled operation of client billing & cash collections, supplier invoicing & payment management, banking & payment processing and staff payroll and incentive schemes. Monthly reporting to management and board on full group P&L (with consolidation), balance sheet and cash flow performance against budget and prior period. Identifying month-end process improvements for the team to produce useful & timely information. Cash management and frequent updates of forecast cash position. Responsible for banking facilities and relationships. Support the preparation of annual budgets, operating plans and re-forecasts. Working with directors to support controlled, commercial & profitable development of new client business. Prepare year end financials up to audit stage. Month End financial packs, Balance Sheet, trading Account and cash flow if required. Budget v actual year, prior year versus actual year variances. Analysis of overhead costs and expenditure, control of spending as per budgeted cost. UK GAAP statutory accounting. Budgeting and planning experience (Excel modelling) would be very beneficial.
The ideal Applicant will have a professional qualification in ACA, CIMA or ACCA and have at least two years working within commerce and industry. You must have experience leading small finance teams in business operations and ownership of all finance processes, have the ability to review detailed planned and actual spending, and control spending against budget. Sage 50 is advantageous. You must have the Ambition to manage the financial performance of a growing independent group of companies.
